주식회사 포브갤러리의 ‘POV’는 ‘Point Of View’의 약자이다.

 이는 보는 이의 관점을 그 무엇보다 중요한 예술활동으로 보고, 갤러리는 작품과 관객의 거리가 가까울 수 있도록 도움을 주는 매개체로써의 역할에 충실하겠다는 다짐을 담고 있다. 작가의 의도나 갤러리의 기획이 갖는 중요성을 인정하면서도 예술을 예술 답게 만드는 가장 강한 힘은 결국 ‘관객’이 만들어 내는 것임을 더욱 강조하는 것이다.

 지난 2024년 3월 9일에 개관한 포브갤러리는 현대예술의 메카라고 할 수 있는 청담에 위치하며, 다양한 문화 및 예술분야가 모이고 또 흩어져 재생산되는 과정에 일조할 수 있기를 바란다. 갤러리를 통해 다양한 문화권 뿐 아니라 다양한 연령층이 깊이 있게 사유할 수 있는 작품이라면, 어떠한 틀에도 얽매이지 않고 보다 많은 사람들이 작품을 접할 수 있도록 그 역할을 다하고자 한다.

 The POV Gallery, which opened on March 9, 2024, is located in Cheongdam, the mecca of modern art, and hopes that it will contribute to the process of gathering and dispersing various cultural and artistic fields. If it is a work that not only various cultures but also various age groups can think deeply through the gallery, we will do our best to allow more people to access the work without being bound by any framework.
