박윤진 작가노트 (b.1997)
Artist's Note.
나의 작업은 반려동물을 단순히 재현하는 데서 나아가, 그들의 행복한 순간을 이야기로 구성해 화면에 옮기는 일이다.
동물과 인간을 서로를 위해주는 동반자로 바라보며, 의인화된 동물들이 쉬고 만나고 함께 시간을 보내는 일상의 장면을 중심에 둔다.
유기견‧유기묘가 겪은 아픔을 이해하되, 고통을 반복적으로 보여주기보다 그들에게 더 많은 행복의 시간을 마련하고, 관객이 그 세계를 온전히 느낄 수 있도록 하는 것을 목표로 한다.
나의 주제는 동물의 삶이다. 유화 물감을 주사기에 담아 캔버스 위에 눌러 짜 올리는 기법을 사용한다
주사기는 본래 치료를 위한 도구라는 점에서 ‘돌봄’의 맥락을 갖는다. 나는 이 도구의 성격을 작업 과정과 연결해, 상처 자체의 재현보다 회복 이후의 상태를 표현하고, 시간의 축적을 기록하고자 한다.
인간 사회에서 동물은 종종 ‘손님’으로 머문다. 나의 작업은 사람 때문에 버려지거나 위협받지 않는, 동물의 자립과 평온이 가능한 세계를 상상하고 구축한다.
그 세계에서 동물은 공동체의 구성원이자 독립적 주체로 자리하며, 자치적 질서 속에서 일상을 영위한다.
사회가 고도로 발달할수록 물질은 풍요로워지지만, 마음은 쉽게 소진된다. 반대로 동물의 세계는 본래의 천성과 순수함을 유지한다.
동물과의 만남을 통해 인간이 잃어가던 마음을 회복할 수 있다고 믿는다. 이러한 믿음 아래 반려견과 반려묘의 일상, 휴식, 만남, 배려가 드러나는 장면을 작업으로 풀어낸다.
동물이 인간에게 주는 수많은 혜택을 존중하며, 그들을 인생의 동반자로 다루는 태도를 작품 전반에 일관되게 유지한다.
My work goes beyond simply portraying companion animals — it constructs narratives around their happiest moments and brings those stories to life on the canvas.
I view animals and humans as companions who care for one another.
At the heart of my work are everyday scenes where anthropomorphized animals rest, meet, and spend time together.
While I acknowledge the pain experienced by abandoned dogs and cats, I aim not to dwell on suffering but instead to create more moments of joy for them.
My goal is to allow the audience to fully immerse themselves in that world of healing and happiness.
The central theme of my work is the life of animals. I use a technique in which oil paint is filled into a syringe and squeezed onto the canvas.
The syringe, originally a tool for healing, carries a connotation of "care."
I connect this nature of the tool with my creative process — rather than reproducing wounds themselves, I express the state of recovery and record the accumulation of time.
In human society, animals often remain as "guests."
My work imagines and constructs a world where animals are not abandoned or endangered by people, but instead live in peace and independence.
In that world, animals exist as both members of a community and as independent beings, leading everyday lives within a self-governed order.
As society becomes more advanced, material wealth increases, yet the human spirit is easily depleted. In contrast, the world of animals retains its original instincts and purity.
I believe that through encounters with animals, humans can recover the emotional depth they have been losing.
Based on this belief, I depict scenes of everyday life, rest, connection, and mutual care between companion dogs and cats.
Respecting the many benefits animals offer humans, I maintain a consistent approach throughout my work — treating them as true life companions.
