Artist's Note.
같은 곳 또 다른 공간
(The same place, Another space)
사회의 급격한 변화로 인한 내적인 무력감과 공허함 그리고 자아 정체성의 불규칙적인 변화로 미래를 예측할 수 없게 되었다. 미래의 불확실성은 자신을 잃어버리고 타인을 쫓아가게 되는 인간 소외 현상에 나를 가둬 둔 것 같았다.
이는 자신의 존재 가치에 회의감을 느끼고 뚜렷한 주관과 창의적인 활동을 발휘하지 못하는 가운데 나 자신이 기계나 조직의 부품이 되어 가는 현상에 이르렀음을 느꼈다. 그러한 암울한 현실 속에서 나는 궁극적으로 추구하는 이상에서 오는 갈등과 현재를 살아가고 있는 인간의 내면 세계를 중점으로 전개한다.
그 내면의 공간으로 색의 반전을 통해 이상세계가 진정으로 바라는 유토피아적 관점을 가지고 긍정적인 이상세계를 말하고자 한다.
누구나 가고 싶고 누구나 보고 싶은 이상세계의 공간을 통해 희망적인 메시지를 담아내어 각자의 생각에 따라 꿈꾸는 세계가 될 수 있고 절망의 세계가 될 수도 있다. 그러므로 작가는 작품을 통해 삶의 긍정적인 메시지를 전달하고자 한다.
같은 시공간에서 희망의 메시지를 만나게 해주는 매개체적 역할을 한다.
여행을 통해 화려한 도시풍경과 전 세계 다양한 사람들과의 만남을 통해 제가 가지고 있던 차갑고 삭막한 도시이미지의 편견을 깨게 되었습니다. 그 안에서 다양한 사람들과 소통을 통해 이 시공간 속에서 혼자가 아닌 더불어 살아가고 있다는 것이 저에게 영감을 주어 작품으로 승화하게 되었습니다.
색의 심리적 효과를 이용해 대중들에게 밝고 따뜻함 색채감으로 삶의 긍정적 에너지를 보여주어 잠시나마 쉬어가도록 하여 바쁜 현대인들이 저의 작품을 통해 따뜻함과 행복이 가득했으면 좋겠습니다.
The rapid changes in society have led to a sense of internal helplessness and emptiness, as well as irregular shifts in self-identity, making it impossible to predict the future. This uncertainty seems to have trapped me in a phenomenon of alienation, where I lose myself and chase after others.
I have come to realize that I feel a sense of doubt about my own value and find it difficult to express a clear perspective or engage in creative activities, ultimately feeling like I am becoming a mere part of a machine or an organization. In such a bleak reality, I focus on the conflicts arising from my ultimate ideals and the inner world of human beings living in the present.
Through the inversion of colors, I aim to express a utopian perspective that truly desires an ideal world. I want to convey hopeful messages through a space that everyone wishes to visit and see, creating a world that can be a dream or a world of despair, depending on individual thoughts. Thus, as an artist, I strive to deliver positive messages about life through my works.
I serve as a medium that connects people with messages of hope in the same space and time. Through travel, the vibrant cityscapes and encounters with diverse people worldwide have shattered my preconceived notions of a cold and desolate urban image. Interacting with various individuals has inspired me to realize that I am not alone in this space and time, but rather living together with others, which I transform into my artwork.
By utilizing the psychological effects of color, I aim to showcase positive energy in life through bright and warm hues, allowing busy modern individuals to take a moment to rest and experience warmth and happiness through my works.
