Artist's Note.
31회 초대 개인전을 준비하면서_ 경계의 미학 (‘l’m a star’)
나는 어린 시절부터 뜨겁게 타오르는 태양보다는 어두운 밤하늘을 은은하게 비춰주는 별을 좋아했다. 그래서인지 신진 작가 시절 ‘별을 세다’ 라는 주제로 12년동안 그림을 그렸었고
별을 세다는 지금의 경계의 미학 시리즈의 발판이 되었다. 누구에게나 어려운 시간들이 있는데 그건 어두운 밤하늘이었고 어디로 가야 할지 모르는 나에게 방향성을 알려 주는 건
바로 별이었기에 별은 곧 희망이고 바램 그리고 꿈을 실현해주는 소중한 존재였다.
이번 전시는 별을 세다의 확장된 개념으로 ‘나는스타’ 라는 주제로 라움아트센터에서의 전시를 해보려고 한다. 사람들은 힘든 시간이 슬픔의 시간, 절망의 시간이라고 생각하지만 나는 그 시간이야 말고 바로 성공의 전환점. 바로 황금의 타이밍이 아닐까 라는 생각이 들어 그 내용을 작품에 담아보았다.
다른 사람의 빛을 부러워하지 말자, 세상에서 가장 빛나는 존재는 ‘나’이고 나로 인해 세상은 돌아가며 내가 세상의 중심에 서 있다고 외쳐보자!! 오랫동안 그림을 그려온 나는 물감 외에 다른 부자재를 쓰는 걸 선호하지 않지만, 이번 전시만큼은 감상자들에게 빛을 선물하고 싶어 반짝이는 부자재를 시도해 보았는데 작업을 하면서 가장 도움을 받은 건 정작 나 자신이었다.
아침에 일어나 반짝이는 그림을 보면 내 입가에 미소와 에너지가 생기고 즐거워지며 긍정적인 마인드가 생기는 것이다. 그림은 아무말도 하지 않고 항상 같은 자리 그대로 있지만 나에게 용기와 행복을 주는 소중한 ‘나의 스타’ 이기도 하다.
전시를 기획해준 포브갤러리 관계자에게 깊은 감사의 말씀을 전하며 이번전시를 통해 모든이들과 함께 행복한 미래를 꿈꾸고 싶다. -송미영-
While preparing for the 31st Invitational Private Exhibition_Aesthetics of the Boundary ('l'mastar')
Since I was young, I liked stars that reflected the dark night sky rather than the hot sun.
Maybe that's why I drew pictures for 12 years under the theme of 'Counting Stars' as a new artist Counting stars served as the springboard for today's series of aesthetics of boundaries.
Everyone has had difficult times, but it was the dark night sky, and it was the stars that gave directions to me who didn't know where to go, so the stars were precious beings that made hope, hope, and dreams come true.
This exhibition is an extended concept of "Counting Stars," and I would like to exhibit at the Raum Art Center under the theme of "I Am a Star."
People think that hard times are a time of sadness and despair, but I don't think it's that time, but the turning point of success.
I thought it might be the timing of gold, so I tried to capture the content in my work.
Let's not be envious of the light of others, let's shout that the world is 'I' who shines the most in the world and that I am at the center of the world because of me!
I don't prefer to use subsidiary materials other than paint, but I tried shiny subsidiary materials to present light to viewers at this exhibition, and it was myself who received the most help while working.
When I wake up in the morning and see a sparkling picture, I have a smile and energy around my mouth, I feel happy, and I have a positive mind.
The picture is always the same without saying anything, but it is also a precious "my star" that gives me courage and happiness.
