Artist's Note.
나의 회화는 흔들리는 물결과 스쳐가는 반영에서 출발한다. 단순한 풍경의 재현이 아니라, 자연과 인간, 기억과 감각을 시각화하는 동시대적 풍경화를 탐구한다.
반복되는 붓질과 유동적인 색채는 자연의 리듬을 담아내며, 우리가 자연과 맺는 관계를 다시 바라보게 하고 생동감과 고요함을 동시에 환기시킨다.
동시대의 빠르고 평면적인 소비적 이미지와 반대로, 나의 작업은 물감의 물질성과 손의 흔적을 통해 시간의 층위를 드러낸다.
물결 위로 투영된 풍경의 이미지들이 뒤섞이는 빛과 물결, 반영이 겹쳐지는 다층적인 화면을 만들어내고 고정되지 않는 자연의 움직임을 붙잡는다.
이를 통해 관람자는 단순한 시각 경험을 넘어 리듬과 기억, 몰입의 순간을 마주하게 된다.
물 아래의 풍경, 물결, 그리고 수면 위에 비친 외부세계라는 세 가지 이미지이자 시간의 층을 드러낸다.
붓터치는 물결처럼 움직이며, 바람에 흔들리는 잎사귀가 가진 리듬을 담아낸다. 보이지 않는 공기의 흐름을 따라가며 반복적 리듬을 형성하고, 고요함 속의 몰입을 이끌어낸다.
추상과 구상을 오가는 화면은 물결처럼 겹쳐지고 흩날리며, 우리가 공유하는 심리적 풍경을 환기한다.
건축적인 구조 위로 유영하는 붓터치들은 다층적 화면을 구성하며 우리들을 마치 물을 바라보는 시점으로 유도한다.
캔버스 위로 서로 다른 시간대가 겹쳐지며 감각과 기억, 시간과 공간을 투영한 반추상적 풍경화로 재구성된다.
흔들리는 반영의 이미지는 불안정한듯 안정적인 균형을 이루며 우리 시대의 정서를 비춘다.
개인적 기억에서 출발한 이미지는 미래에의 불확실성이 주는 흔들림과 사색, 치유라는 집단적 감정으로 확장된다.
나는 느린 회화를 통해 “오늘날 우리가 풍경을 본다는 것은 무엇을 의미하는가” 라는 질문을 던지며, 자연의 리듬과 내면의 감각이 만나는 심리적 풍경의 장을 제안하고자 한다.
다층적 풍경이 주는 사색의 시간
나의 회화는 바람에 흔들리는 물결과 그 위에 비친 이미지를 출발점으로 한다.
이는 단순한 풍경의 재현이 아니라, 자연과 인간, 기억과 감각이 서로 스며드는 동시대적 풍경에 대한 탐구이다.
반복되는 붓터치와 유동적인 색채는 자연의 생명성을 담아내고 인간과 자연이 맺는 관계를 다시 성찰하게 하며, 생동감과 회복의 감각을 불러낸다.
화면 위의 붓터치는 물질적 흔적과 물감의 질감을 드러내며 디지털 이미지의 평면성과 대비되는 ‘느리게 바라보기’를 가능하게 한다.
이는 단순히 자연을 묘사하는 것을 넘어, 동시대 예술이 감각의 회복을 어떻게 실천할 수 있는가에 대한 질문이기도 하다.
빛과 반영, 물결의 움직임은 단순한 시각 경험을 넘어 다층적인 감각의 장을 열고, 감상자에게 깊은 몰입을 제안한다.
흔들리는 물결과 반영의 이미지는 불확실성과 불안의 시대를 살아가는 우리 모두의 정서를 비추는 거울과 같다.
추상적 붓터치와 리듬은 개인적 기억을 넘어, 불안과 치유, 사색이라는 동시대의 집단적 정서로 확장된다.
나의 작업이 외부 풍경과 내적 풍경을 연결하는 통로로서, 관람자가 자신의 기억과 감각을 스스로 꺼내볼 수 있는 심리적 장(field)이 되길 바란다.
바람에 흔들리는 물결과 그 위에 비친 형상들이 만들어낸 추상적 색채와 형태에 매료된 순간부터, 구상과 추상을 넘나드는 시도를 지속하고 있다.
끊임없이 흐르는 물의 이미지는 반복적으로 겹쳐 올린 붓터치와 색채의 리듬으로 표현되고, 고정되지 않는 풍경의 순간을 캔버스 위에 고정시킨다.
물 아래의 풍경, 물결, 그리고 수면 위에 비친 외부세계라는 세 가지 이미지의 겹침을 드러낸다.

나의 작업은 흔들림 속의 고요를 붙잡는 여정이다. 물결처럼 반복되고 흩날리는 붓터치와 다층적 화면은 자연의 리듬과 사회적 기억, 내면의 감각을 동시에 드러내 추상적 리듬과 색채의 장으로 확장된다.
“오늘날 우리가 풍경을 본다는 것은 무엇을 의미하는가”라는 질문을 던지며 이를 통해 나는 관람자가 단순한 휴식을 넘어, 동시대적 삶과 자연의 관계를 다시 사유하고 몰입할 수 있는 감각적이며 심리적 풍경을 제시하고자 한다.
My painting begins with the wavering ripples and fleeting reflections on the surface of water.
Rather than merely reproducing a landscape, I explore a contemporary vision of nature — one where the boundaries between nature and humanity,
memory and perception, continuously intertwine.
Through repetitive brushstrokes and fluid colors, I capture the rhythm of nature, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with the natural world
and to experience both vitality and stillness at once.
In contrast to the fast-paced, flat, and consumable images of our contemporary era, my work reveals the materiality of paint and the trace of the hand,
uncovering the layered passage of time.
The overlapping reflections on the rippling surface create a multi-layered image of light, water,
and mirrored landscapes — an attempt to grasp the ever-shifting movement of nature.
Through this, the viewer encounters not just a visual experience, but a moment of rhythm, memory, and immersion.
My paintings unfold as layers of time: the landscape beneath the water, the ripples themselves,
and the mirrored world above the surface.
Brushstrokes move like waves, embracing the rhythm of fluttering leaves and tracing invisible currents of air,
forming a repetitive tempo that leads toward quiet contemplation.
By oscillating between abstraction and figuration, the images overlap and disperse like ripples,
evoking a shared psychological landscape.
Floating brushstrokes drift across architectural structures, composing layered spaces that position the viewer as if gazing upon water.
Different temporalities overlap on the canvas, reconstructing a semi-abstract landscape that reflects sensations, memories, time, and space.
The trembling reflections achieve a fragile yet stable balance, mirroring the emotional state of our uncertain times.
What begins as a personal memory expands into a collective sentiment of contemplation, instability, and healing in the face of an unpredictable future.
Through slow painting, I ask: “What does it mean to see a landscape today?”
I seek to create a psychological field where the rhythms of nature and inner sensibility meet.
