Artist's Note.
거짓 없는 공간 현대 사회의 과도한 자극은 개인의 무의식을 압박하고 있다. 이는 반드시 다른 형태로 되돌아오게 한다.
수면의 질이 떨어지기 시작한 시점을 기점으로 거의 매일 꿈을 꾸기 시작했다.
몸이 피곤하고 아플수록 더 깊이 꿈을 꾼다. 현실에서 나는 주변 환경에 민감하고 타인의 시선을 신경 쓰며 스스로를 단단히 포장하는 사람이다.
그러나 꿈은 그 포장을 벗긴 채, 내가 억누르던 감정과 혼란스러운 생각들을 왜곡된 형태로 재생한다.
프로이트의 이론이 말하는 ‘억압된 욕망의 회귀’를 넘어, 나에게 회복·해소의 기능이기도 하다.
그렇게 어둠과 빛, 긴장과 위안, 불안과 욕망이 뒤섞여 무의식 전체를 구성한다. 꿈은 한없이 자유롭다. 그러나 내가 원하는 형태로 오지 않는다.
자유롭기에 통제할 수 없고, 숨기려 하지만 드러나는 모순된 경험이 바로 작품으로 다루고 싶은 지점이다.
꿈속에서 ‘나’는 단일한 인물이 아니라, 여러 감정적 조각으로 분리된 존재이다. 그렇게 매 순간 자유롭게 변하는 나의 모습 또한 관찰하고자 한다.
자유연상의 방식으로 기록하고, 그 중 반복적으로 등장하는 상징을 장면으로 옮긴다.
이 작업은 하나의 해소이자, 꿈의 조각을 화면에 배치하고 내면을 정확히 바라보는 이 행위는 곧 자기 회복에 가깝다.
작품을 통해 자신의 깊은 내면을 마주하고 들여다볼 기회가 되길 바란다.
A Space Without Falsehood
The excessive stimulation of contemporary society presses heavily upon the individual unconscious, inevitably returning in another form.
Since the moment my quality of sleep began to decline, I started dreaming almost every night.
The more exhausted or unwell my body becomes, the deeper I fall into dreams.
In waking life, I am highly sensitive to my surroundings, conscious of how others perceive me, and I wrap myself in a firm external shell.
But dreams strip away that shell. They replay the emotions I suppress and the tangled thoughts I avoid, reshaping them into distorted scenes.
Beyond what Freud described as the “return of repressed desire,” dreams serve as a mechanism of recovery and release for me.
Thus, darkness and light, tension and solace, anxiety and desire intertwine to form the whole of my unconscious.
Dreams are boundlessly free—yet they never arrive in the form I expect.
Because they are free, they are uncontrollable; they reveal what I try to hide.
This contradictory experience is precisely what I wish to explore in my work.
In dreams, “I” am not a single figure but a being fragmented into multiple emotional pieces.
I seek to observe this self that transforms freely from moment to moment.
I record my dreams through free association, translating recurring symbols into visual scenes.
This process becomes a form of release. Arranging fragments of dreams on the canvas and confronting my inner landscape is, for me, an act of self-restoration.
I hope my work offers viewers an opportunity to face and delve into the deepest layers of their own inner world.
