고봉밥의 情
쌀과 아름다운의 합침은 곧 풍요이다. 풍요의 기반은 먹는 것 그것이 바로 味다.
우리사회 공동체는 한솥밥을 함께 먹는 것이다. 우리가 서로 함께 할 때 비로소 아름다움으로 다시 돌아온다.
밥은 음식이고. 글귀는 양식으로 고봉밥은 꿈이요. 희망이요, 미래의 인생을 담긴 향기의 밥으로 불러 일으킨다.
한국인에게 밥은 어떤 의미인가. 무수히 많은 단어가 스쳐지나갈 것이다.
한음절(밥)이란 단어는 대다수가 공유하는 상징과 추억의 대상이다.`밥은 하늘이다`라는 소중한 글귀가 되새겨진다.
소중한 글귀는 말씀이다.말씀은 우리 할머니,어머니께서 정한수 떠 놓고 기원하는 뜻으로
오방새의 도상적인 새가 달을 보며 기원하는 뜻으로 긍정적이고 목적이 이루길 소망하는 표현하였다.
The love of high-paying rice
The confluence of rice and beauty is abundance. Rice is the basis of abundance.
Our social community is to eat together. It is only when we are together that we come back to beauty.
Rice is food. Gobong is a dream. Hope, bringing up future life with scented rice.
What does "bap" mean to Koreans? Countless words will pass by.
The word "bob" is an object of symbols and memories shared by the majority. The precious phrase "bob is heaven" reminds me.

가슴을 따뜻하게 하는 고봉밥의 화가 홍형표
Hong Hyung-pyo, a heartwarming painter of Gobongbap.
좋은 그림이란 무엇인가? 물론 그 기준은 여러 가지일 것이다. 그러나 무엇보다 그림은 보는 사람들의 가슴을 적시거나 울리는 그림이 좋은 그림이라고 할 수 있다.
그림을 보는 감상자들의 마음을 움직인다는 것은 그만큼 대중과 함께 나누고, 그들과 함께 공감으로 다가감을 의미하기 때문이다.
What is a good picture? Of course, the criteria may vary. However, most of all, paintings that wet or echo the hearts of the viewers are good paintings.
This is because moving the hearts of viewers who look at paintings means sharing with the public and approaching them with empathy.
홍형표 작가는 그 점에서 우리의 가슴을 흔들고 적시게 하는 따뜻한 작가군에 포함된다.
일찍이 ‘고봉밥 화가’로 알려진 그의 작품은 정말 막사발에 꾹꾹 눌러 담은 밥을 통해 우리를 군침 흘리게 하고 입맛을 돋우게도 한다.
Hong Hyung-pyo is included in the warm group of writers who shake and wet our hearts in that respect.
His work, known earlier as "Gobongbap Painter," really makes us drool and raise our appetite through rice that is pressed down on a rice bowl.
오랜 시간 서예, 문인화, 한국화의 다양한 장르를 거치면서 문인화가로 그 분야에서 이름을 알렸다. 그러다 이제는 전통적인 재료를 넘어 캔버스에 아크릴로 테라코타를 사용하여 고봉밥의 작가로 업그레이드해서 돌아온 셈이다.
After a long period of time in various genres of calligraphy, literary painting, and Korean painting, he became a literary painter and made his name known in the field. Now, he has moved beyond traditional materials and has upgraded to a writer of Gobongbap using acrylic terracotta on canvas.
이렇게 돌아온 배경을 보면 그만의 아주 짠한 스토리가 존재한다.
연배 있는 작가가 그렇듯 홍형표 작가 역시 밥에 대한 남다른 추억을 간직하고 있다.
“배가 너무 고파서 쌀밥 한 그릇 푸짐하게 먹는 것이 꿈이었던, 늘 배고프던 시절 그가 어릴 적 찾은 외가댁에서 꾹꾹 눌러 담은 밥 한 그릇을 맛있게 먹은 순간”을 그는 아직도 잊지 못한다. 그 추억 속의 밥이 지금의 고봉밥으로 다시 그림으로 탄생한 것이다. 지금은 그 흔한 것이 쌀밥이지만 그때는 그 쌀밥 한 그릇 먹는 것이 가장 큰 행복이었으며 최고의 희망이었다.Looking at the background of this return, there is a very sad story of his own.
Like an older writer, Hong Hyung-pyo also has special memories of rice.
He still can't forget, "When I was so hungry that I dreamed of eating a big bowl of rice, when I was always hungry, I enjoyed a bowl of pressed rice at my mother's house I visited when I was young." The rice in that memory was reborn as the current Gobongbap. Now the common thing is rice, but at that time, eating a bowl of rice was my greatest happiness and my best hope.
홍형표는 그 밥 한 그릇에 가난했지만 넘쳤던 사랑, 아주 작은 사소한 행복, 그리고 창창한 앞날을 향한 희망, 그리고 어린 시절의 많은 추억 등을 사실, 이 고봉밥 한 그릇에 모두 담고 싶었다.
그만큼 ‘밥’은 그에게나 우리에게나 매우 각별하고 남다른 의미와 향수를 지닌 애틋한 이름의 보통명사이다.
In fact, Hong Hyung-pyo wanted to put all the poor but overflowing love, very little happiness, hope for a bright future, and many memories of his childhood in this bowl of rice.
To that extent, 'bob' is a common noun with a loving name that is very special to him and to us and has a special meaning and nostalgia.
”그 시절, 행복과 희망을 가득 채운 수북한 밥 한 그릇에 건강을, 밥 한 그릇에 복을 기원하고, 밥 한 그릇에 희망을 품던 ‘대지(大地)의 어머니’ 같은 마음을 담아 밥공기 시리즈가 탄생했다”라고 그는 털어놓았다.
"In those days, a rice bowl series was born with a large bowl of rice filled with happiness and hope, wishing for good health, blessings in a bowl of rice, and hope for a bowl of rice," he confessed.
사실 그는 단순히 고봉밥만을 그리지만 않는다. 바로 그 그림 안에 속속들이 긍정적이고 뜻깊은 구절과 명언들을 일일이 담아 놓았다.
이 경구 들은 평소 작가가 존경하는 법정 스님이나 정명 스님, 도올 김용옥 등의 강의 속에서 좋은 구절들을 손으로 하나하나 고봉밥에 새겨 넣은 것이다.
이렇게 홍형표 작가는 30년 이상 그림에 대한 열정을 한국의 정서를 담은 깊은 정(情)으로 형상화하는 작업에 정진해왔다.
In fact, he doesn't just paint high salaries. The painting contains all the positive and meaningful phrases and wise sayings.
These epigrams are hand-carved with good phrases from lectures such as monk Beopjeong, monk Jeongmyeong, and Do-ol Kim Yong-ok, whom the writer usually respects.
For more than 30 years, author Hong Hyung-pyo has devoted himself to shaping his passion for painting into a deep affection containing Korean sentiment.
그가 이렇게 고봉밥에 올려놓은 정성과 노력은 어쩌면 밥이 아니라, 그가 지닌 가슴 속 깊은 추억과 정 그 자체이다. 작가는 이 고봉밥을 통해 앞으로 자신만의 화풍을 정립하고자 하는 의지와 열망을 이번 <돈화문>갤러리 전시에서 유감없이 풍부하게 보여주었다.
이 고봉밥의 그림들을 통해 사람들에게 따뜻한 온기를 건네듯, 그 따뜻한 시선을 세상 사람들에게 나누며 품고 싶어 했다. 그것은 그의 삶이기도 하지만 우리 삶이며 그의 따뜻한 마음이기도 하다.
The sincerity and effort he put on such a high salary is not perhaps rice, but the deep memories and feelings he has in his heart. The artist showed his willingness and desire to establish his own style through this high-quality rice show in this exhibition of Donhwamoon Gallery.
Through these paintings of Gobongbap, he wanted to share his warm eyes with the world as if he were giving warm warmth to people. It's his life, but it's our life and his warm heart.
이처럼 그의 작품들은 그림을 통해 삶을 표현하는 체험적 현장성을 담는데도 열정을 다했다.
물론 그것은 역사의 도시 수원에 그의 집과 작업실이 모두 그곳이어서 그는 언제나 그곳에서 산책과 명상을 하면서 주제를 얻었고 그것을 모티브로 작품으로 형상화했다.
한때 수원의 소나무에 반해 5년 동안 소나무 작업에 집중했다든가 ‘정조의 꿈’이라는 주제 아래 고봉밥 위에 수원의 옛 지도를 결합한 작품을 제작 완성한 이유가 모두 그러한 배경이 있었다.

At one time, there was a background for all of the reasons why he focused on pine tree work in Suwon for five years, or completed the production of a work that combines Suwon's old map on top of Gobongbap under the theme of "Dream of King Jeongjo."
그것은 마치 정조가 수원화성을 건설한 이유도 가난하고 긍휼한 백성이 잘살 수 있는 나라, 배불리 먹을 수 있는 나라를 만들기 위한 것이었다는 사실에 작가는 크게 주목한 것이다. 그만큼 작가는 가슴에 훈훈함을 천성적으로 가지고 태어났다.
그런 측면에서 홍형표의 고봉밥은 단순한 넉넉한 쌀의 고봉밥을 그린 것 이상의 차원을 분명 넘어선다.
이렇게 홍형표 작품에서 보이는 미덕과 특징은 새로운 미술 형식에 관한 탐구와 도전을 게을리하지 않는 것에서 발견된다.
The writer paid great attention to the fact that the reason why King Jeongjo built Suwon Hwaseong was to create a country where poor and compassionate people could live well and eat well. That much, the writer was born with a heartwarming nature.
In this regard, Hong Hyung-pyo's high-pocket rice clearly exceeds the level of painting of high-pocket rice with plenty of rice.
As such, the virtues and characteristics of Hong Hyung-pyo's work are found in his not neglecting the exploration and challenges of new art forms.
기본적으로는 전통 문인화의 정신과 흐름을 지키면서 동시에 깊이 있는 채색과 입체적 표현으로 그만의 양식을 통한 매력을 한결같이 보여 온 것이다.
어떻게 하면 회화의 본질을 지키면서 고봉밥 시리즈에 새로운 감각을 부여 할 것인가에 지치지 않고 주목한 것이다. 그러한 특성이 가장 잘 살아나 눈길을 끈 것이 바로 이번 전시의 호박시리즈라고 볼 수 있다.

작가는 빨강이나 핑크, 파랑 등 원색적인 색채를 과감하게 사용하면서 전통적인 먹선의 문인 화풍 회화적 요소를 결합하여 독창적 양식의 매력적 그림으로 돋보이게 표현했다.
그 패턴은 고봉밥을 다룬 작품에서도 따뜻하고 신선한 색감에 입체적 질감을 덧붙이면서 회화의 부조화로
더욱 많은 눈길을 끌었다.
그 위에 다양하고 장식적인 색감이 덧입혀지면서 캔버스 위에 평면은 그림을 넘어 한편의 돋을새김 같은 입체작품을 연상하기에 충분했다.

진부한 주제를 진부하지 않게 현대적인 감성을 주는 것도 그의 회화에 또 다른 장점이 아닐 수 없다.
문인화적인 공간과 여백의 배치, 단순하고 깔끔한 구성과 형태가 주는 질서, 그 위에 인간의 감정을 흔들게 하면서 가슴을 적시는 고봉밥의 추억과 시선이야말로 그의 그림이 주는 최고의 울림인 것이다.
We find a new vision in his work by keeping this literary formative element intact and revealing the taste of painting with cheerful composition and handwriting.
It is another advantage to his painting to give a modern sensibility not to cliché a cliché subject.
The best echo of his paintings is the arrangement of literary space and margins, the order given by simple and neat composition and form, and the memories and gaze of Gobongbap, who wet his chest while shaking human emotions on top of it.
